Kobo Pulse: eReading is Sharing
If you're afraid you're non sharing enough of your daily activities with your online friends, here's another chance to get social…with books.
E-subscriber manufacturing business Kobo has announced an distended friendly networking platform that provides period feedback–the social "pulse," if you volition–of the ebook you're reading.
I know this whol sounds a bit vague. Maybe some examples will help.
Let's say you're engrossed in a Kobo book. At the bottom of the screen door, the Kobo Pulse indicator grows brighter OR dimmer depending on the amount of online buzz accompanying to the foliate you're on.
To see what other Kobo users are locution about your book, tap the Beat; thumbnails of fellow readers appear on the top of the screen. To add up your thoughts connected the book, tap the Page Feed icon in the upper right corner:
To see more statistics about your book, including the number of mass who care it, drag the Pulse Up. You can share passages with your Facebook friends and Chirrup followers too.
Kobo Pulse is free, and will first appear in Kobo's eReading App for iPhone and iPad. Soon after, it will extend to Android, Kobo eReaders and separate platforms. The New Facebook desegregation will roll out over the next few months, the company said.
Get Multiethnic, Bookworm
"With Kobo Pulse we are capturing the zeitgeist of all Word of God in the world, and enabling readers to be a function of it, to contribute to the life of the playscript, while reading," said Kobo CEO Michael Serbinis in a statement.
I'm not exactly sure what he means, but any quotation with the Holy Scripture "zeitgeist" is Charles Frederick Worth repetition.
I'm also non sure if instant access to social group networks improves surgery impairs the reading experience. If you're enjoying a book, do you want to stop and interact with fellow readers? Some people will, of line, and for them Kobo Pulse is probably a good thing.
